When managers are a good fit for leadership roles, they contribute 48% higher profit to their companies than average managers do.
Only 22% of HR leaders use pre-selection assessments to evaluate readiness for leadership roles.
70% of team engagement is directly tied to the quality of their manager — making leadership development a business imperative.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the Emerging Leader Index (ELI)?
The Emerging Leader Index (ELI) is a research-based leadership assessment and development program designed to help individuals understand their leadership potential before they step into formal leadership roles. Through an objective assessment, personalized reporting, and interactive learning experiences, participants gain practical insights into their leadership knowledge, behaviors, and motivation to lead.
2. What are the benefits of participating in the Emerging Leader Program?
The Emerging Leader Program delivers measurable value for both individuals and organizations.
For participants, it provides research-based insights that increase self-awareness, accelerate professional growth, and build leadership capability through personalized development.
For organizations, it provides objective leadership metrics that support talent identification, succession planning, leadership development, and strategic workforce decisions, creating a stronger return on leadership development investments.
3. Is this program only for people who want to become managers?
No. Leadership skills are valuable regardless of career path. Many participants discover they can have tremendous influence without holding a formal leadership title. The program helps individuals better understand their strengths, leadership potential, and the role leadership may play in their future, whether that includes managing people or becoming an expert in their field.
4. Does this program help me if I already have leadership experience?
5. How is ELI different from other leadership development programs?
Most leadership development programs begin after someone has already become a manager. ELI starts earlier by helping individuals understand and develop their leadership potential before they assume formal leadership responsibilities.
At the individual level, ELI goes beyond opinions and personality assessments by providing data-driven insights into each participant’s leadership knowledge, behaviors, and motivation. Rather than delivering the same experience for everyone, the program combines personalized assessment results with practical development activities, helping participants focus on the areas that will have the greatest impact on their growth.
At the organizational level, ELI also provides meaningful metrics that help identify emerging talent, strengthen leadership pipelines, and make more informed leadership development decisions.
6. How long does it take to complete the Emerging Leader Index assessment?
Most participants complete the online assessment in approximately 15 to 20 minutes. It can be completed anywhere with an internet connection and serves as the foundation for each participant’s personalized leadership development experience.
The full Emerging Leader Program is completed over seven weeks. The program begins with a four-hour Emerging Leader Academy, followed by six interactive leadership workshops that help participants build and apply essential leadership skills. At the conclusion of the program, participants complete a post-program evaluation to measure growth, reinforce key learning, and identify opportunities for continued development.
7. What do participants receive?
Each participant receives personalized insights, practical development, and lasting resources, including:
- A research-based Emerging Leader Index assessment
- A personalized leadership report with actionable recommendations
- Interactive leadership development sessions
- Practical tools and resources to apply learning on the job
- An individualized action plan for continued growth
- An Emerging Leader Index Program Certificate of Completion
8. What do organizations receive?
Organizations receive valuable insights that help strengthen their leadership pipeline, including:
- Individual participant reports
- Aggregate organizational reporting
- Data to support succession planning and talent development
- Objective insights into leadership strengths and development opportunities
- A consistent framework for developing future leaders
9. Can the program be customized?
Yes. The Emerging Leader Program can be tailored to your organization’s goals, audience, schedule, and development priorities. Workshops, reporting, facilitation, and program length can all be adapted to fit your needs.
10. When can we get started?
Organizations can begin planning an Emerging Leader Program at any time. We’ll work with you to determine participant groups, program timelines, and delivery options that best fit your organization’s goals.
11. Are there right or wrong results on the Emerging Leader Index?
No. ELI is not a pass-or-fail assessment, nor is it a personality test. There are no “good” or “bad” profiles. Every participant brings different experiences, strengths, and interests. The assessment is designed to provide meaningful insights that support individual growth and development.
12. As a participant, how will this help my career?
The skills developed through ELI extend well beyond formal leadership roles. Participants gain greater self-awareness, improve communication and collaboration, strengthen their ability to influence others, and build confidence for future opportunities. Whether your goal is leadership, technical expertise, or continued professional growth, the program helps you increase your impact within your organization.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants also receive an Emerging Leader Program Certificate of Completion, recognizing their commitment to professional development and the leadership knowledge and skills they have gained.
